Mcdonald's battles revenue slump with new strategy in 2025

At the beginning of 2025, McDonald's recorded its largest drop in revenue since the pandemic. The fast-food giant is preparing to implement significant changes, including adjusting prices and launching a new marketing campaign.

In the first quarter of 2025, McDonald's revenue in the USA fell by 3.6% compared to the first three months of 2024. The company hasn't reported such poor results for five years, as observed by the German website karlsruhe-insider.de.

"More and more people have to control their household budgets and think twice about every dollar spent. Most people have no choice but to thoroughly consider what they really need. Of course, the first things you save on are those you can easily do without," the site reports.

However, McDonald's has a plan to reverse this trend. The giant intends to release promotional clips and make the chain's locations more attractive as places to work. Prices will also be adjusted to reflect the new economic reality, writes karlsruhe-insider.de.

The largest McDonald's restaurant

Despite the difficulties, the chain recently opened its largest location at Son San Juan Airport in Palma, Majorca. The restaurant spans about 10,764 square feet.

The restaurant features 40 digital kiosks and eight order fulfillment lines to streamline customer service. Additionally, it offers table service and a McCafé. The new fast-food location employs nearly 200 people, making it one of the largest employers in the region.
