Kylian Mbappe's transfer to Real Madrid was one of the most anticipated in recent years. Fans had been talking about it since 2017, and it only materialized seven years later. The Frenchman joined Carlo Ancelotti's team after achieving great success with Paris Saint-Germain.

The beginning of the 25-year-old's journey with the Royals has not been as expected. Although he scored 11 goals and made two assists in 21 matches so far, he has not led his team to victories in the most important and challenging matches of the season. His performance on the field has puzzled fans and the media, and the reasons for this have been speculated to lie off the field.

Kylian Mbappe spoke out on depression

The situation around Kylian Mbappe became very tense, leading him to agree to an interview with the French branch of Canal+. Among other questions, he addressed the reports that he was suffering from depression. He denied it but admitted there were times he felt tired.

I’m not depressed. Of course, I’ve had some problems, some exhaustion, some troubles, but I’m not depressed, and people shouldn’t be saying that because a lot of people actually suffer from depression - said Kylian Mbappe.

The journalist asked about the slow start to the season for the Frenchman and the entire Real Madrid team. The 25-year-old calmly assured that everything is moving in the right direction and he is not worried about improving results.

We're here. It's not the best start to the season, but we're preparing for the trophies that will count. We've already won the European Super Cup. It's not up to what we expected, but at Real, we wait in the second half of the season. That's where you'll be judged - added the Frenchman.
