Perry suffered a heart attack in his home jacuzzi, and the official cause of his death is still undetermined. The actor's assistant discovered his body and informed the authorities.

The late "Friends" star's former fiancée, Molly Hurwitz, who began dating Matthew in 2018 and was engaged to him two years later, shared her thoughts. Their relationship ended in 2021, less than a year after their engagement.

In a touching Instagram post, Hurwitz expressed the profound impact her ex-fiancé had on her life. She had the privilege of helping him prepare for the "Friends" reunion.

"Being with him as he rediscovered his brilliance was magical," she wrote.

Hurwitz underlined Perry's remarkable talent, and his love for recognition. She believed he would have been overjoyed to see the global appreciation of his work.

"While I loved him deeper than I could comprehend, he was complicated, and he caused pain like I’d never known. No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry. I have tremendous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship," she added.
