Quite unexpectedly, coach Julian Nagelsmann did not call up Mats Hummels for the squad. He had a successful season with Borussia Dortmund and competed in the Champions League final.
Has wardrobe issues due to rumors
The 35-year-old’s future is currently being decided. He chose not to extend his contract with BVB and will represent a new club next season. This has sparked a plethora of rumors about the team he will join.
Italian media speculate that the German is in talks with AS Roma. Meanwhile, according to Catalonia's "Sport," only the details of his contract with RCD Mallorca remain to be settled.
Meanwhile, Hummels is doing his best to avoid these rumors. On Instagram, he posted a photo from the gym wearing a 2012 Greece national team shirt. He added some telling words to the post.
"Difficult to find a jersey for sports where there are no stupid rumours afterwards," admitted the defender.
