In Saturday's Major League Soccer matches, Mateusz Bogusz from Los Angeles FC contributed to his team's successes with crucial goals.
23-year-old Bogusz, who recently debuted for the Polish national team, opened the scoring in the fourth minute of the derby match against LA Galaxy. Despite his goal, Los Angeles Galaxy concluded the game with a 4-2 victory.
This is Bogusz's 14th goal in this MLS season, placing him among the league's top scorers. Christian Benteke from DC United leads the table with 19 goals.
Three players, including Uruguay's Luis Suarez, have scored 17 goals each, and six, including Lionel Messi, have 14 goals. After rehabilitation from an injury sustained during the summer Copa America, Messi returned to the field and scored twice for Inter Miami in a match against Philadelphia Union (3-1).
Los Angeles FC is in second place in the Western Conference with 48 points in 27 matches. Local rival LA Galaxy leads the table with a seven-point advantage after playing two more matches.
The top eight teams from both conferences will advance to the playoffs after the regular season ends.
