With one month to go before the premiere of "Masters of the Sky", Apple+ has released the full trailer for the series. Austin Butler's portrayal of Elvis during his military service is strikingly accurate. We can expect spectacular battles for aerial supremacy in the era of Hitler.

The producers Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg describe "Masters of the Sky" as the "spiritual sequel" to their earlier war productions, "Band of Brothers" and "The Pacific". Work on the final part of this trilogy began as far back as 2012, under HBO's patronage. The project was later taken over by Apple TV+ when HBO dropped out seven years later.

Apple TV+ confidently invested 250 million dollars in a nine-episode narrative about the American 100th Bombardment Group. The group was popularly known as the "Bloody Hundred", referencing the colossal losses they experienced in aerial missions over Germany during World War II.

Shooting for the series began in February 2021 and continued for 14 months. An entire airman's barracks were constructed from scratch in Oxfordshire, joined by original aircraft from 80 years ago. The production faced several hurdles, including a pause in work due to positive Covid-19 tests among the crew, and a delay in release caused by an actor's strike.

"Masters of the Sky" is scheduled to appear on Apple TV+ streaming on January 26, 2024. The trailer, already available online, teases multiple love stories but centers primarily on the desperate struggle of the Allies against the Luftwaffe.

Leading roles in the series are played by Austin Butler ("Elvis") and Callum Turner ("Fantastic Beasts"). The initial episodes, titled "Semper Fi", "Little Resistance", "Hard Landing", and "Revenge" were directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, the mastermind behind the latest Bond movie.
