According to the National Weather Service (NWS), winter weather advisories are in place for numerous northeastern states until Tuesday evening. The mayor of New York, Eric Adams commented the situation on Twitter and announced "decisive action"

New York City public schools will suspend in-person classes on Tuesday due to predictions of up to 8 inches of snow accumulation. Authorities are advising residents in the affected areas to refrain from traveling and to anticipate major delays at airports as the storm approaches

Municipal authorities have announced that winds could reach speeds of 40 mph, with thundersnow likely around sunrise. Should the city accumulate 6 inches or more of snow, it would mark the largest snowstorm since January 2022.

- Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday morning and evening commute - the National Weather Service said in an alert.
