Massive inferno engulfs 14‑story building in Valencia, Spain: Casualties unknown, rescue efforts underway
The fire broke out in a 14-story block in Valencia's Campanar district. It rapidly engulfed neighboring buildings.

Numerous fire brigade units hurried to the scene. People throughout the vicinity were instructed to stay clear of the fire site.
Currently, the number of casualties remains uncertain. Local media suggest there may have been individuals inside the buildings at the time of the fire.
A resident of the second floor of the apartment complex told 'La Sexta' how the flames quickly escalated after ignition. "The fire spread within 10 minutes," he reported.
Another local resident reported to TVE about firefighters desperately attempting to rescue a teenage boy trapped on the first building's first floor. There were also reports of a family being saved from a balcony. "Only the skeleton of the building is left," a man added.
On-site field hospital operating
The fire department was alerted at approximately 11:30 AM Eastern Time. TVE reports that a field hospital has been established nearby, ready to attend to any victims.
The Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, expressed his sympathy for the victims on social media, saying, "I want to show solidarity with all the victims and express my appreciation for the rescuers on location." He disclosed that he has been communicating with the president and local authorities to coordinate appropriate assistance.
