On Sunday, Ukrainian Deputy Mykhailo Volynets reported on a tragedy that transpired during a military award ceremony. The attack occurred in a village located on the frontline in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. The death toll is shocking and distressing.

According to Deputy Volynets, 28 soldiers from the 128th Zakarpattia Brigade lost their lives, while an additional 53 sustained injuries due to the Russian attack.

This incident that sent ripples of sorrow across the nation took place on November 3rd in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. On that day, Russian forces attacked 26 settlements in the region. A missile also hit the 128th Zakarpattia Brigade as they were partaking in a ceremony related to the celebrations of Missile Troops and Artillery Day. "They were standing in line for decorations," reports the Obozrevatel portal.

Volynets took to Facebook to communicate the grim news, stating: "Unfortunately, the report on the death of our soldiers from a Russian missile is accurate".

Three days of mourning declared

The Ukrainian Armed Forces earlier clarified that the attack, which transpired on Friday, was executed using a Russian Iskander-M missile. The ceremony, at which the attack occurred, was organized in observance of the Day of the Missile Troops and Artillery, featuring soldiers from a variety of units.

From information sourced from the Suspilne portal, the location of the attack is a frontline village situated in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast in southern Ukraine.

In response to this heartbreaking incident, Zakarpattia Oblast has declared three days of mourning. This decision was made as a repercussion of the tragedy in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, where numerous soldiers met with a fatal and injurious attack.
