We have received sad news from the Czech Republic, regarding the tragic death of 24-year-old Martin Jindra. Throughout his career, he intimately associated himself with the club VK Jihostroj České Budějovice, even securing a national championship for them, as a libero player.

Martin Jindra devoted his life to volleyball from a young age. From the get-go, he was a fierce defender for VK Jihostroj České Budějovice, progressing through all their youth categories.

His debut in the senior team eventually came. In 2019, he celebrated a win in the Czech championship with his team. However, Jihostroj couldn't sustain the top position afterward.

For the 2021/2022 season, Jindra transitioned to the reserve team. Subsequently, he chose to suspend his volleyball career to focus more on his academic life.

Thursday (December 7th) brought tragic news from his club. Martin Jindra passed away under tragic circumstances at the tender age of 24. For now, the Czech media has not revealed specific details surrounding the incident. "We express our deepest condolences to the family and all their loved ones on behalf of the entire club," a short statement from the club read.

"He was a wonderful person, a great friend who wouldn't hesitate to lend a hand. He was an exceptional volleyball player endowed with formidable talent and fast became a pillar for our youth teams," VK Jihostroj youth coach Vojtech Zach conveyed his sentiments to the idnes.cz portal.
"I still vividly remember his performances at the Czech Pupils' Cup when I first recognized his undeniably extraordinary talent. His potential was truly enormous. This is a big personal loss for me; it will take time to come to terms with," the coach added.

The club will pay tribute to Jindra during Saturday's league match with a minute of silence. The match will be hosted by VK Jihostroj against SKV Usti nad Labem.
