Russian forces have successfully shifted the front line, traversing through the derelict city of Marinka in the Donetsk region. As per the British Ministry of Defence, it seems they now control the majority of the devastated area.

The Ukrainian forces continue to hold their ground only on the city's western outskirts.

Marinka, as per daily intelligence reports, has been a hotbed of intense fighting since the onset of the conflict in 2014. Once home to 9,000 inhabitants, the city now lies in ruins.

Aerial drone footage provides a grim representation of the situation on the ground, revealing that most structures have crumbled into rubble.

The British Ministry of Defence highlighted in their statement that Russia's recent activities in Marinka align with a broader strategy. "The operations against Marinka initiated by Russia form a part of the autumn offensive. The goal is to consolidate control over the remaining areas of the Donetsk region, which is presumed to be one of the Kremlin's primary wartime objectives," the statement elaborated.

In essence, Russia appears eager to extend its influence over this region, aligning with some of the Kremlin's key objectives in the ongoing conflict.
