On December 9, 2024, a McDonald's employee in Altoona called the police, reporting that a man resembling the murder suspect appeared at the restaurant. Luigi Mangione - from student to murderer?
Luigi Mangione is an engineer and computer scientist who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, part of the prestigious Ivy League. He comes from a respected family. His grandfather, Nicholas Bernard Mangione, was a real estate agent, founder of Lorien Health Services, and owner of the WCBM radio station. The 26-year-old worked in various roles, including as a data engineer. His last known residence was in Honolulu, Hawaii.
At the time of his arrest, Luigi Mangione had a weapon resembling the one used to kill the executive, as well as a fake ID and a silencer. The police also found a manifesto in which he explains his motives and assures he acted alone.

On his cover photo on the X platform, there is a distinctive Pokémon, Breloom, whose number is 286. Exactly the same number of posts was published by the suspect. Moreover, 286 is also a code for the denial of medical service. The conspiracy theorist notes that Luigi had very serious spinal issues, necessitating several screws in his lumbar region. The McDonald's restaurant where he was apprehended is also 286 miles from the location of Brian Thompson's murder.
The creator of the second conspiracy theory, Ellen Goodlett, claims to have found the murderer's account on YouTube. The TikToker noticed that a scheduled video appeared on the profile on the day of the man's arrest. The recording features a clock and the text: "If you see this, I'm already under arrest." After the countdown ends in the material, the word "Soon" and the text: "All is scheduled, be patient. Bye for now" appear.
