Manchester teacher sentenced for sex with students gets pregnant

Scandal in the United Kingdom. A teacher from Manchester, Rebecca Joynes, was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for having sex with students and even getting pregnant by one of them. The child was taken away from her shortly after birth.

The Crown Court in Manchester proved six instances of sexual intercourse with minors. According to the "BBC," Rebecca Joynes cried while sitting in the dock shortly after hearing the verdict.

The woman was convicted of having sex with a student. While on leave, she repeated this act and got pregnant by a minor. Both boys were reportedly 15 and 16 years old.

You were the person in control, the person who should have known better and entrusted by the school and the boys and by their parents of caring for their sons. English media report on the details of the investigation. The teacher is said to have taken the first boy to her apartment, where they had sex. The next day, the student's parents noticed a bite mark on his neck and called the police. The woman was suspended from school.

Joynes was arrested for violating the conditions of her bail and spent five months in custody until November last year when she was released on bail. The "Mirror" portal reports that the woman was completely surprised by the police arrest. She thought that suspension from school would be her only punishment.

This did not stop her from inviting another boy to her home. She claimed she had a nervous breakdown after losing her job. In early 2024, she gave birth to a child whose father was the second partner. Within 24 hours, the child was taken away from her. She sees the child just three times a week. She informed the student that he was going to be a father and gave him a baby toy decorated with the phrase "Best Dad."

The former teacher was also accused of a "naked attempt to garner sympathy" from the jury by visibly tucking a pink baby cap into her pants during her court appearances.
