Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland are the biggest stars of Manchester City. Guardiola is renowned as one of the world's best football coaches and famously led the team to its first-ever Champions League victory last season. On the other hand, Erling Haaland is a prolific striker who is widely predicted to win the Ballon d'Or shortly.
Meeting Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland for children training at the Manchester City academy represents an unforgettable experience, even though the first team's dressing room is filled with other luminaries, including Kevin De Bruyne.
One particular moment stood out for its humor. Guardiola created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere during this unique training session and playfully directed the entire group of young players towards Erling Haaland.
The 53-year-old coach humorously asked the children who had scored more goals - him or the 23-year-old Erling Haaland? The children correctly pointed out that, despite Haaland being 30 years younger, he has already scored far more goals in his career. Guardiola, having been a central midfielder focused on defensive roles, was not known for scoring goals.
"So run to Haaland," said Pep Guardiola, pretending to be offended after the young trainees gave their answer. Fortunately, Erling Haaland was standing nearby, not too far away from the scene.
Following the training, the children took a group photo with Manchester City's most prolific player. The visit to the first team's training session was a significant and memorable experience for them.
