We are all familiar with the story of the movie character, Kevin, who accidentally boarded an incorrect flight to New York. However, such instances are relatively rare in reality. Unlike Kevin, who was traveling domestically, this 46-year-old Brit surprisingly bypassed all security checks before his intercontinental flight, all without a ticket or passport.

Unbelievable trip to the USA without a ticket

Craig Sturt somehow managed to fly from Heathrow to New York by effortlessly occupying an empty seat on board and availing himself of free food and drinks. Astonishingly, he was caught only at JFK Airport during passport control.

The 46-year-old man was then immediately sent back to the UK, arrested upon arrival, and admitted to a psychiatric hospital in Reading.

Currently, UK authorities are investigating how such an unprecedented incident could transpire. An anonymous official expressed his disbelief to "The Sun," declaring, "Heads will roll. It is bewildering that something like this could happen." He went on to express that it's pointless to conjecture what could have occurred if an unnoticed terrorist had managed to board the plane successfully. He shared his embarrassment over the incident, saying the Americans were furious and seeking explanations.

A cryptic statement from Heathrow Airport reads, "All individuals entering the airport operation zone, which includes the individual involved in this incident, undergo security screening. We are supportive of authorities in their ongoing investigation".

While this incident transpired on Christmas day, the British man resurfaced in news headlines again as he continued to create disturbance for officers.

Accused under aviation security legislation, Sturt fled the hospital and failed to appear in Uxbridge court for his hearing on January 22nd. He was only recently apprehended this week in Richmond, South London.
