Madonna at 65: A spicy show of defiance in Brazil concert finale
Despite being over 65, Madonna never ceases to shock. She prepared a spicy show for the Saturday finale of her "Celebration" tour in Brazil. Take a look at the rehearsal photos.
Madonna is a pop culture icon who has built her career on controversies and bold references to sexuality and religion. Since the 80s, she has been known as a provocateur, especially after the release of "Like a Prayer," which caused a flurry of protests from the Catholic Church. This only spurred the artist on, who aimed to make history as a symbol of sexual emancipation and female strength.
Years may have passed, but Madonna remains true to her beginnings, continuously shocking the public. At 65, she still performs in controversial outfits, breaks taboos, and provokes with her artistic expression, all criticism seemingly fueling her further.
Madonna provokes at the rehearsal before the tour finale
On Saturday evening, fans will get a chance to see her spicy show as part of the "Celebration" tour, which concludes with a grand concert on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. Again, the artist aims to demonstrate that scandal is not just a facet of her image but an integral part of her art and identity.
An estimated 1.5 million (!) people are expected to attend the beach concert, prompting preparations for the finale to start well in advance. Although the rehearsal mainly focused on technical issues, Madonna gave it her all. The artist completely immersed herself in the performance, engaging in a sultry dance with a semi-naked dancer. The 65-year-old and her younger colleague posed provocatively and even kissed.
"The Queen of Pop" wore a pink slip with lace, torn fishnet stockings, and laced boots. Meanwhile, the dancer opted for minimal attire, only wearing striped pants. Later in the rehearsal, the star switched to a "sexy nun" outfit, a silver jumpsuit, and a black ensemble with a reflective mask.
