Live Halloween? A character from Stephen King's work terrorizes a small town
There are over two weeks left until Halloween. For some, this day is not a time for fun, but for scaring. What's more - they can't wait for Halloween so much that they start scaring... a few weeks earlier. Evidence of this is the character that appeared on the streets of a sleepy Scottish town.
The killer clown is prowling the streets
"Pennywise" is a character created in Stephen King's work titled "IT" from 1987. The terrifying clown was said to kill children every 27 years in the town of Derry, in the state of Maine.
Enough with the fiction. The real "Pennywise" appeared around the town of Skelmorlie in northern Ayrshire, where he leaves his characteristic red balloons behind. He even has a Facebook account under the surname Cole Deimos.
The only thing that will die is your credibility
In Greek mythology, Deimos is the personification of fear, and his name can loosely be translated as "fear".
It seems that the clown started appearing in the village in 2021. On his Facebook account, you can see him crawling across the bridge and staring intently at the screen, holding a red balloon.
He claims that he was educated "in clown school". His latest film is titled "Message for the Media". With a distorted male voice, he mocks the police who have not yet identified him.
Well, I ended up in the news again. Should I smile at the cameras with my "horrible" smile? - he says.
He adds that the police know about his antics.
The police have been notified. Do you think I care? They'd have to catch me first. And that's a challenge. They call me the "killer clown". Leave the jokes to me. The only thing that will die is your credibility - says an anonymous clown in a creepy recording.
What do you think - is this harmless fun, or could this character be a real threat?
