On Saturday evening, an air force report highlighted the threat of Russian drone attacks in the Zaporizhzhia region. An unmanned aircraft was also spotted near the border of the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, triggering an air alert.

Soon after, reports of attacks directed at Kyiv surfaced. Explosions were heard in the vicinity of Kyiv. "Kyiv suburbs are on air defense. The danger is still present," read the statement.

The authorities have urged residents to seek shelter, announcing: "There's an air raid in Kyiv! Everyone is advised to seek immediate refuge in a shelter!"

Explosions have also been reported in the occupied Makeyevka in the Donetsk region, leading to power outages in several city areas.

Throughout the night from Friday to Saturday, Russia deployed 75 drones over Ukraine, the majority of which were aimed at Kyiv. Ukraine's Air Force managed to neutralize 74 of these drones. The Ukrainian authorities and media stressed that Saturday's air raids marked a record for the number of drones used in a single attack launched by the aggressor.

Latvian President Edgars Rinkeviczs and Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte were in Ukraine to honor the victims of the Great Famine. Because of the Russian drone attacks on Kyiv, they had to remain in a bomb shelter for six hours from Friday night to Saturday morning. On Saturday, the leaders called on partner nations to supply Ukraine with additional air defense resources, according to Interfax Ukraine.
