The incident reportedly took place on Thursday evening at the Bank Hotel in central Stockholm. That evening, Kylian Mbappe visited the Chez Jolie restaurant and the V nightclub before returning to the hotel.
Two days later, an official complaint was filed with the police. An investigation is being conducted by a special police unit, which was still working at the scene of the alleged crime on Monday.
As reported by the newspaper "Aftonbladet," an alarm was raised when the affected woman went to a local hospital for medical assistance.
Kylian Mbappe, who left Sweden on a private jet from Bromma Airport on Friday, rejected all accusations, calling them "fake news" on his account on the platform X (formerly Twitter).
This is becoming predictable, right before the trial, as if by coincidence - wrote Mbappe, referring to the hearing scheduled for Tuesday regarding his dispute with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) over 46 million pounds of unpaid wages and bonuses.
The prosecutor responsible for the case did not want to comment on the accusations, and Stockholm police spokeswoman, Carina Skagerlind, issued a similar statement in an interview with "MailOnline."
"The police cannot either confirm or deny that such a case is taking place," it reads. According to "Aftonbladet," no specific individuals have been identified as suspects yet.
Is France angry at Kylian Mbappe?
Meanwhile, the French footballer missed two matches of the French national team in the Nations League due to a hamstring injury, which sparked criticism in his homeland.
Didier Deschamps, the team’s coach, stated that he did not select the player due to lack of full fitness.
The interests of clubs and national teams often diverge - commented the French national team coach.
Mbappe, who is the captain of the French national team, has scored 48 goals in 86 appearances and ranks third among the most effective players of the national team.
