Kyiv evacuates hospitals amid Belarusian threat, dispels 'terrorist' claim

Kyiv has urgently started evacuating two hospitals, including a children’s hospital on Bohatyrskaya Street, in response to a threatened enemy attack announced by the head of the Belarusian KGB, as reported by the Kyiv city administration on Telegram on Friday.

The city is urgently evacuating two hospitals after a video, which has been widely shared online, claimed an imminent enemy attack targeting these medical facilities, alleging the presence of military personnel there.

"This claim is a complete falsehood and an enemy provocation aimed at striking the social infrastructure of the capital. To safeguard ill children, their parents, and medical staff, city authorities are taking all necessary steps to relocate patients and medical practitioners to other facilities within the capital," the announcement stated.

The report mentioned that the city has sought assistance from the Security Service and the Ministry of Health, informing them about the actions being undertaken to ensure the safety and health of patients and hospital personnel.

The reason behind the evacuation

Comments from Ivan Tertel, the head of the Belarusian KGB, during the VIII All-Belarusian People's Assembly in Minsk prompted the evacuation.

Tertel claimed that the hospitals on Bogatyrskaya Street, numbers 30 and 32, were harboring "terrorists" — a term used by the regimes in Moscow and Minsk to refer to wounded Ukrainian soldiers. He ominously stated that they would be treated decisively and without hesitation per wartime laws.
