Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, points out that Moscow is emphasizing a greater nuclear war threat than during the Cuban Missile Crisis. The Kremlin's goal is to intimidate the West and affect aid for Ukraine.

- Meanwhile, in the Global South, Russia avoids discussing this topic because it recognizes its dependence on China and India. Even in terms of information, Russia's strategy will be noticeable - added Kovalenko.

High Representative of the EU, Josep Borrell, stated that he "does not see the relationship" between the U.S. decision to allow Ukraine to strike Russia with long-range weapons and a hypothetical nuclear war.

Russia is attempting to alter the course of support for Ukraine by using various disinformation tools. The Kremlin aims to intimidate the West.

Putin signed a decree

Let us recall that Putin's updated doctrine suggests that the basis for a nuclear attack could be "any aggression against Russia by a non-nuclear state supported by a nuclear power will be viewed as a joint attack," as well as a massive air attack with non-nuclear means, including drones.

Immediately after the document was published, Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, spoke. He stated that the changes should be viewed as a "message to the West." - Any aggression against Russia by a non-nuclear state supported by a nuclear power will be viewed as a joint attack - said Peskov.
