The time for Independence Day has passed. As is tradition, the day saw a flurry of activity in Polish media, with a range of solemn and celebratory events to mark the anniversary of regaining independence.

However, November 11 carries significance not only in Poland but elsewhere too. For instance, the United Kingdom commemorates Remembrance Day, a holiday honoring soldiers who lost their lives in wars. This past Saturday, a ceremony involving members of the royal family was hosted at the Royal Albert Hall.

Overwhelmed with Emotion, King Charles III Revealed His Parents' Monuments

At the ceremony, new monuments commemorating Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Queen Victoria, and Prince Albert were displayed. King Charles III had the honor of unveiling the statue dedicated to his mother, while Queen Camilla revealed the statue of her father-in-law. The commissioning of these sculptures was not specifically for Remembrance Day, but instead to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Royal Albert Hall.

Photos and videos from the event captured the moving moment of the unveiling. It is evident in these images how the poignant event deeply touched Charles. In one snapshot, the emotion-stricken monarch can be seen trying to hold back his tears.
