Euro 2024 is now part of history. The winner of the European competition turned out to be Spain, who defeated the England team 2-1 in the final. This marks the second consecutive EURO final loss for the "Sons of Albion"—in the previous tournament, held four years ago, England lost to Italy after a penalty shootout.

Right after the game ended, the faces of the English players and coaching staff showed true devastation. However, the British monarch, King Charles III, boosted the English team.

He issued an official statement expressing his pride in the English team's performance. Charles III assured that their performance compelled them to "hold their heads high" despite the result, which did not bring ultimate victory.

But please know that your success in reaching the European Championship final is a really great achievement in itself, and one that brings with it the pride of a nation which will continue to roar for the Three Lions today – and in the many triumphs which I have no doubt lie ahead - the monarch conveyed.

King Charles III's son, Prince William, was also at the match. The heir apparent to the British throne supported the English team along with his son George. He also decided to publish a brief statement, clearly in the tone of the royal declaration.
