King Charles III of Great Britain diagnosed with cancer, advised to halt public duties
The Palace highlighted that, in recent days, King Charles was examined due to a benign enlargement of the prostate.

"During this examination, another worrisome issue was identified, which was diagnosed as a type of tumor", noted the Palace.
King is advised to stay away from public appearances
The statement added that the King will now receive appropriate treatment. His doctors have suggested that the 75-year-old Monarch halt all public activities for the time being.
"The King expresses gratitude to the team of doctors for their immediate intervention, which was possible due to his recent hospital visit", the statement reads.
"He remains optimistic about his treatment and hopes to resume his duties as soon as possible", the Palace further commented.
The announcement was made in order to prevent speculation about the King's health. He also wishes that his diagnosis might bring a new perspective regarding those suffering from cancer worldwide.
King Charles III is from the Windsor dynasty, being the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II. He ascended the throne following her death on September 8, 2022, and was formally crowned in May 2023.
