The North Korean authorities officially confirmed on Tuesday that an intercontinental ballistic missile test of the solid-fueled Hwasong-18 had taken place the day before. Kim Jong Un expressed that the rocket launch exemplified the actions they would take, "if Washington makes a wrong decision".

On Thursday, Kim asserted that Monday's trial showcased the high mobility and capability of the North Korean army to strike promptly. The dictator also urged for efforts to further boost its combat efficiency, as reported by the KCNA agency.

Kim Jong Un declares "more offensive actions"

The North Korean state agency, KCNA, reported on Tuesday that Kim Jong Un threatened "more offensive actions" to fend off "military threats from enemies". He stated, as quoted by regime media, that "one should never disregard the reckless and irresponsible military threats of enemies".

- We need to counter them decisively through more offensive actions, adopting a more aggressive and threatening stance if enemies continue to make the wrong choice - said the dictator.

South Korean President, Jun Suk Jeol, said on Tuesday that Pyongyang will understand that its provocations only bring "more pain". - The formidable alliance of South Korea and the United States founded on nuclear weapons is becoming a reality - the president declared, assuring citizens that the government is committed to keeping their lives free from fears stemming from North Korea's nuclear threat.

According to South Korean press agency Yonhap, Pyongyang's regime "made it clear" that recent intercontinental rocket tests were a display of power against the heightened efforts by Seoul and Washington to devise a nuclear strategy against Pyongyang's threats.
