Kim Jong Un amps up war preparations in response to US 'confrontational moves'
On the second day of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) Central Committee's plenum, Kim announced, on Wednesday, meaningful conclusions regarding the course of the conflict in 2024, according to a KCNA dispatch.

Kim detailed combat tasks for the People's Army, the weapons, nuclear, and civil defense industries to accelerate the military preparations. This move comes in light of a comprehensive analysis of the grave political and military scenario on the Korean Peninsula, which has reached a critical stage due to unparalleled US aggressive moves and those of their allied forces against North Korea," the report added.
In December, Kim made a startling announcement that he would not shy away from executing a nuclear attack if provoked with atomic weapons by his "enemy". Not long ago, Pyongyang revealed the successful testing of a Hwasong-18-type intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) powered by solid fuel. Experts believe this missile could reach any part of the United States.
The United States recently issued a stern warning to North Korea stating that any nuclear attack on the US or its allies would attract a "swift, overwhelming, and decisive response," thus leading to the "end of the regime" of Kim Jong Un.
