In Moscow, the deputy chief designer at the Mars Design Bureau, Mikhail Shatsky, who participated in modernizing cruise missiles used in attacks on Ukraine, was murdered. Ukrainian media reported this, citing sources within the Ukrainian army. According to these reports, Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) is believed to be behind the assassination.

Russian opposition journalist Aleksandr Nevzorov, currently in Ukraine, first reported Shatsky's death. Nevzorov wrote on Telegram that "none of those responsible for the genocide of Ukrainians will die naturally."

The journalist added that HUR forces eliminated a "particularly dangerous criminal" in Moscow. Shatsky was involved in upgrading the Kh-59 cruise missiles to the Kh-69 level and was also responsible for developing new drones. According to Nevzorov, he was responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent Ukrainians.

The RBK-Ukraine portal confirmed this information, citing sources within the Ukrainian army. The report emphasized that this operation was supported by HUR military intelligence. The state news agency Ukrinform also reported on Shatsky's death.

Russia is enhancing its drone capabilities, having launched over 6,000 missiles at Ukraine in the fall of 2024. The shelling has been more intense than last year, with Russia now having its own production line in Tatarstan, creating designs similar to Iranian Shaheds.
