Kharkiv residents brace for defense as Russian offensive slows

Since May 10, Russian troops have been conducting an offensive in the border areas of the Kharkiv region. As reported by the independent Russian portal Meduza, the pace of the offensive slowed down at the beginning of June.

This is partly because the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) command has utilized all of its operational reserves in defense. U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan believes that the Russian offensive on Kharkiv has stalled after the United States allowed the Ukrainian Armed Forces to carry out attacks on Russian territory.

However, Russian troops are not giving up their attempts to attack, and the residents of Kharkiv, constantly under attack by the Russian Armed Forces, are preparing to repel further assaults.

Veterans are helping Kharkiv residents acquire basic military training skills. Classes are held in shelters because Russian troops continuously carry out missile attacks, drop bombs, and deploy drones to attack Kharkiv.

Aim and shoot. These skills may be useful to both those expecting mobilization and those ready to volunteer at the front - emphasizes Meduza.

Russian troops are attempting to go on the offensive across the entire front - from Kharkiv to the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. Fighting continues in the Donetsk region, where the defense is carried out, among others, by the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo.

They know us and know that we are here, they are afraid and looking for another way - says Vasyl from the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
