Swimming in a pool full of cloudy water is not only unpleasant but also risky. Various fungi and bacteria can develop, posing potential health threats, such as skin diseases and respiratory disorders. Therefore, maintaining proper hygiene while swimming is crucial.

Many people turn to chlorine to keep pool water clean. Although effective, chlorine can be unsafe if used in too high a concentration, as it can irritate the skin.

Natural water purifier: achieve crystal clear water

Before you start cleaning the water, disinfect all the pool filters. Soaking them in warm water with a small baking soda will help eliminate harmful bacteria. Next, remove any visible debris from the water, such as leaves or insects.

The next step is to use ascorbic acid or vitamin C. You need 2 ounces of this ingredient for every cubic yard of water. Vitamin C effectively eliminates impurities, making the water crystal clear. Regular use of this method is recommended, as ascorbic acid reduces the level of iron, which is responsible for water cloudiness.

Alternative cleaning method

If you have a pool vacuum, you can also try using baking soda. It is as effective as vitamin C. However, you will need 11 pounds of baking soda.

Once you have the baking soda, pour it into the water and let it dissolve. Finally, scrub the pool bottom with a clean mop and use the vacuum to remove any sediment.
