Keep your induction cooktop shining without scratching: Homemade solutions revealed

Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen is essential, but managing messes can often present a challenge. Cooking, by nature, can cause a bit of a mess. Spills on an induction cooktop can burn and become stubborn to remove. Instead of purchasing special cleaning agents, you can create an effective cleaning paste using a few household ingredients.

Cleaning your induction cooktop with homemade solutions

An induction cooktop's sleek black glass surface only maintains its beauty when it's pristine. Streaks and spills are easily noticeable, making it quite challenging to maintain the cooktop in perfect condition. Conventional household cleaners may not always get the job done, so testing some homemade cleaning techniques for those challenging surfaces is worthwhile. One recommended method involves using table salt and lemon juice, a combination that guarantees a clean cooktop.

Begin by slicing a lemon in half and using the juice to dampen the entire cooktop. Evenly sprinkle a thin table salt layer and lightly scrub the surface. The minuscule salt crystals won't cause scratches while gently exfoliating the entire surface. It's important to remember that coarse sea salt can potentially damage the glass surface, so it's best avoided. Once the salt dissolves, use a paper towel to dry the cooktop. By the end of the process, there will be no trace of any marks left.

Is your cooktop showing minor scratches? Eliminate them in a single attempt

Every appliance shows signs of wear and tear as time passes, and the induction cooktop isn't an exception. Minor scratches over time may dull the surface, rendering it matte. To hinder the quick aging of your cooktop, consider using a hack that fills in the surface. There are two options here; surprisingly, the first one entails using toothpaste. Apply a thin layer of toothpaste on the cooktop, allow it to dry, and then scrape off the excess with a damp sponge. The scratches will be filled, and your cooktop will regain its previous shine.

The second method involves using a banana peel, rich in starch, that acts as a natural adhesive. Simply peel a banana and rub the peel's inner side over the cooktop a few times to allow the pulp to fill in the gaps. Allow it to sit for a few minutes, then wipe it off with a paper towel. Your polished cooktop will sparkle like never before.
