Most of us instinctively recoil at the sight of a mouse. Not only do they appear unfriendly, but they also carry dangerous diseases, such as salmonella and even rabies. It's no wonder that when we spot them in our homes, we want to get rid of them as soon as possible. Here's how to do it effectively.

What attracts mice to the house?

The presence of mice in the house shouldn't surprise anyone. As cooler days arrive, mice look for a place to survive the winter. Although they are afraid of people and scurry away at the sight of us, encounters can still happen. Garages, pantries, and basements are particularly appealing to them, as food is often easily accessible there.

To prevent rodents from visiting our homes, it's crucial to keep food in tightly sealed containers. This ensures rodents have no access to the food, making our home an unattractive place for them to settle.

Food remnants and crumbs are also attractive to mice. Regular and thorough cleaning minimizes the risk of these being left on floors or countertops, so there is nothing for mice to snack on in our homes.

There are many proven methods to quickly eliminate mice from a home. While people often use store-bought traps or poisons, you can also try a simple home remedy using ingredients from your kitchen.

To do this, crumble instant noodle pasta and sprinkle it with a bit of sugar and baking soda. The sugar and noodles act as bait, while the baking soda causes the mice to experience severe gas. After consuming this mixture, the mice should quickly leave your home.
