In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the iconic action movie "Speed," its stars — Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock — reunited at a special event in Los Angeles where fans could ask them questions. Did the topic of the actors reuniting on set come up again?
Sandra Bullock pondered whether it was possible to create a new production that would meet the expectations of today's audiences. "It would require a lot from everybody. I don't know if we're in an industry anymore that's willing to tolerate it and be brave enough to do it," Bullock remarked.
This is not the first time they've faced this question. Some time ago, she and Keanu were guests on a podcast, and the "Matrix" star enthusiastically said, "We'd crush it!" Bullock was not equally convinced, simply offering that she would be happy to act alongside Keanu again.
"Speed." An action movie classic
The first "Speed" film debuted in 1994 and became a classic in the action genre. It received three Oscar nominations and won awards for sound editing and best sound. The film grossed ten times its budget in theaters. A sequel was released three years later: "Speed 2: Cruise Control". Unfortunately, it did not match the success of the first one. Reeves did not participate, and the film was so poorly received that it received a Razzie Award for the worst remake. Both movies are now available on Disney+.
