On October 5, 2024, Kate Winslet turned 49 years old. The actress gained enormous popularity by playing Rose in the iconic film Titanic. The Hollywood star has played many outstanding roles and collaborated with some of the most renowned directors. However, she does not repeat every collaboration today.

Kate Winslet is a talented actress who gained immense popularity with her role in "Titanic." She has delivered numerous other equally unforgettable performances. In recent years, she captivated audiences in the series "Mare of Easttown," where she played a detective investigating a murder case while coping with her own demons. Winslet also starred in projects directed by Roman Polanski, which she later openly regretted.

On October 5, 2024, Winslet turned 49. Kate is a happy wife and mother, although she experienced several tumultuous relationships before finding peace with her current husband.

"I have to take responsibility"

In the past, Kate Winslet collaborated with Roman Polanski (in the film "Carnage" from 2011) and Woody Allen (in the production "Wonder Wheel" from 2017). The star admitted that she is not proud of these collaborations, considering the accusations both directors faced.

What was I doing working with Woody Allen and Roman Polanski? It's unbelievable to me now how those men were held in such high regard, so widely in the film industry and for as long as they were. It's disgraceful, she said in "Vanity Fair."

She added that while time can't be turned back, she still regrets her decision to work with men about whom disturbing rumors had been circulating for years.

I have to take responsibility for the fact that I worked with them both. I can’t turn back the clock. I’m grappling with those regrets but what do we have if we aren’t able to just be truthful about all of it?, she emphasized in the same interview.

Third time's the charm?

Kate Winslet's first husband was Jim Threapleton, whom she married in 1998. The couple had a daughter. Unfortunately, the marriage did not withstand the test of time, and their divorce was announced in 2001. Later, Winslet married director Sam Mendes in 2003, and later that December, they welcomed their son, Joe. However, this relationship didn't last either.

In 2010, rumors began circulating about Winslet and Mendes's separation. The actress was deeply affected by what was being written in the tabloids. The breakup was often attributed to Winslet, who was claimed to have grown bored with her husband. The actress emphasized that the way the media wrote about their divorce was really brutal.

After the divorce, the actress was linked with model Louis Dowler, although the relationship lasted only a few months. Then, Edward Abel Smith entered Kate's life, and they married in 2012. The couple had a son named Bear, born a year after their wedding. Winslet and Smith are still together today.
