Kamala Harris: What's next after stunning election defeat?

Although the official results are still pending, it's already certain that Donald Trump will be the new President of the United States. The millionaire surprisingly defeated Kamala Harris significantly, and her future is currently the subject of media speculation. According to "The New York Times," the politician has two paths ahead.

After losing the presidential election, Kamala Harris faces a decision about the next steps in her career. "The New York Times," as reported by the Polish Press Agency, analyzes possible scenarios for the former Vice President of the USA.

One option for Harris is to run again in the 2028 presidential election. Although this may seem like a natural course of action, history shows that it rarely brings the expected success. An example is Hillary Clinton, who, after her loss in 2016, did not return to top political positions.

Alternatively, Harris might consider working in the private sector. Many politicians take lucrative offers from companies after leaving Washington. However, given her political ambitions, such a decision may be premature.

Another possible direction is to establish a foundation or research institute. Although such an initiative may be risky following an electoral defeat, it would allow Harris to continue her public activity and influence critical social issues.

"The New York Times" also suggests that Harris might decide to write a book. By sharing her experiences from the campaign and working alongside Joe Biden, she would gain a platform to present her perspective and maintain her presence in public life.

It's possible, however, that Harris will decide to take a break to reflect on the future and draw conclusions from recent events. The newspaper reminds readers that after the 2016 election loss, Hillary Clinton spent time hiking near her estate in Chappaqua, New York.
