Claudio Marchisio took up gastronomy after ending his football career in 2019. As an athlete, he represented three clubs but spent the longest time with Juventus, from 2006 to 2018. The Turin-born midfielder was also a part of the successful Italian national team during this period.
The former athlete may fondly remember his positive relationships with Juventus fans during his time at the club. However, those relationships have recently cooled due to the Italian's media activities. He angered fans with one of his comments on a podcast.
Claudio Marchisio said that Juventus has more fans throughout Italy than its local rival Torino FC, but in Turin itself, the situation is the opposite.
Juventus fans considered Claudio Marchisio's comment disrespectful and decided to respond. Hooligans went to the restaurant co-owned by the former Italian national team player. Under cover of night, they hung a huge banner attacking the former footballer.
You have no idea about anything. As a player, you were a pawn of the club, as an unemployed expert you became a traitor, and in your private life, you are a piece of ***** - wrote Juventus supporters on the banner.
Claudio Marchisio was furious when he saw the effects of the hooligans’ actions in the morning. He decided to comment on the incident on social media. "A few masked individuals decided they had the right to place a banner on a restaurant of which I am not the sole owner. Employees are wasting valuable time removing this banner, and nearby businesses were hit in the crossfire. I'm not even annoyed by the message itself, but by the way it was delivered," wrote Claudio Marchisio.
