Juneyao Airlines passengers lock crying girl in bathroom "to teach a lesson"

According to foreign media, passengers' attention during the flight was drawn to a little girl who was traveling with her grandmother. Witnesses reported that the child was crying and was difficult to soothe. The media was abuzz after it came to light how the women wanted to control the little tourist.

According to BBC, when the grandmother could not calm her granddaughter down, two strangers got involved. One of them was said to lead the crying girl to the airplane bathroom, while the other informed the child that she could leave the bathroom only after she stopped crying.

A short video posted on social media shows the girl crying and trying to get out of the locked bathroom. It must be admitted that such an experience can be traumatic for the child.

The women who locked the girl in the bathroom claimed that they received permission from her grandmother to use such a method to "teach the girl a lesson." Additionally, the women emphasized that they wanted to help not only the girl’s guardian but also other passengers who were clearly disturbed by the noise generated by the young passenger.

"In consideration of other travelers' comfort, at the child's grandmother’s initiative, passengers took the child to the bathroom," the airline said briefly in an official statement.
