Journalist claims Ukraine needs more troops to turn the tide in the war

German journalist Julian Röpcke, reporting on the Ukraine war, has voiced concerns about the nature of Western backing for Ukraine. According to him, financial aid and material support are inadequate unless Ukraine significantly increases its military mobilization.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine most urgently require more soldiers on the front lines.
"All the American money, all the Western support, all the German weapons won’t help if Ukraine does not mobilize another 250,000 soldiers at least to reinforce a far too thin manned front," Röpcke emphasized.
He also commented on the Russian army's occupation of the village of Oczeretyne. Located about 15.5 miles northwest of Avdiivka, this minor advancement signifies a further intrusion into Ukrainian territory. Despite these being largely superficial shifts, the Russian forces are nonetheless making gains.
The Ukrainian government has embarked on a significant mobilization effort, calling up to 500,000 men to the front. This strategy aims to bolster the Ukrainian military's capacity to fend off the Russian incursion and possibly execute a counteroffensive in the spring or early summer.
