Every year, the American magazine "People" selects the most handsome "Man Alive." This contest has been generating excitement and media interest for years. The first edition occurred in 1985, with Mel Gibson as the inaugural winner.

This year, the prestigious title was awarded to 45-year-old John Krasinski. For many years, he was primarily associated with his role as Jim in "The Office." Besides being a talented actor, he is a proud father and a happy husband. He has been married to actress Emily Blunt for 14 years, and their relationship continues to interest the media.

He won the contest

This year's winner contest admitted that he did not expect to win at all. He initially thought it might be a joke. Krasinski takes over the title from "Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey, who won last year.

Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts. Other than maybe I'm being punked. That's not how I wake up, thinking, 'Is this the day that I'll be asked to be [The Most Handsome] Man Alive?' And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me - John Krasinski confessed in an interview with "People."

Do we have a reason to celebrate?
