The woman, a victim of this savage attack, was rushed to the hospital by emergency services. She sustained two bleeding stab wounds in the stomach area. Thankfully, despite the severe nature of the injuries, her life is not in danger.

A violent attack occurs in her own home

This horrific event unfolded in the Montluc district, situated in Lyon's 3rd district. The victim reported that a man clad in dark attire, his face concealed, knocked on her door and without warning, stabbed her twice. Post this gruesome attack, the assailant absconded from the scene. Simultaneously, a swastika was marked on her apartment door.

A mezuzah, an emblem of the Jewish faith, was affixed to the entrance door of the victim's apartment. In response to this incident, the Lyon public prosecutor's office has initiated an investigation for attempted murder. The possibility of an "anti-Semitic motive" was also suggested in relation to this attack.

"The escalated level of violence is beyond words. My full support goes to the victim and her kin," wrote Lyon's mayor, Gregory Doucet, on the platform formerly known as Twitter, ‘Platform X’.

Her lawyer, Stephane Drai, voiced the shock of the victim, her family, and the Jewish community on BFMTV. He pointed to a disconnection between words and action in French society where, until now, the belief was that such anti-Semitic attacks and attempted murder were unthinkable. He also announced the filing of a complaint for "attempted murder".
