In the Techelet Mordechai Street area of Jerusalem, a white car plowed through pedestrians, subsequently crashing into several parked cars nearby. Police reports indicate that two armed individuals emerged from the vehicle but were unable to discharge their weapons, likely due to a malfunction.

Two suspects, identified as Palestinian teenagers, were apprehended following a brief search. The discovery of an abandoned makeshift submachine gun suggests the situation could have escalated further.

Emergency services tended to two individuals struck by the vehicle at the initial location and a nearby spot on Yirmiyahu Street in the Romema neighborhood. A third person reportedly sustained minor injuries, according to the police.

Conflict in Israel

Since the onset of hostilities with Hamas on October 7, there have been continuous attacks on Israeli urban areas. On Monday, the Palestinian civil defense in Gaza announced the recovery of 283 bodies from Khan Younis Hospital.

In a significant development, the chief of Israeli military intelligence resigned, acknowledging the failure to avert the October 7 incident. This marks the departure of the first senior official in response to the situation.
