The announcement of "The Grand Tour's" end in November spurred many conspiracy theories regarding the conclusion of the partnership.

The most prevalent speculation was a conflict with the new employer, triggered by Clarkson's controversial column in "The Sun," where he boldly voiced his dislike for Meghan Markle.

"The recordings for 'The Grand Tour' were physically demanding and have become increasingly challenging as I aged, gained weight, and grew older. I've driven cars at higher altitudes and further north than anyone else. We've done everything conceivable with a car. When we gathered to brainstorm ideas for new episodes, people desolately raised their hands in defeat," Clarkson explained.

The End of An Era

The "Grand Tour" series premiered in 2016, following the departure of Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May from the Top Gear show on the BBC.

Two more episodes remain before the conclusion of the trio's glorious two-decade-long journey. These final episodes are set to be available to Amazon Prime subscribers later this year. The second to last episode documenting their Sahara journey in modified convertibles is expected to be released in February. The grand finale of the "Grand Tour" series, marking the end of an era for car enthusiasts, will also be set in Africa - specifically in Zimbabwe, where they will operate classic 70s cars.

The termination of The Grand Tour does not mean that Clarkson will disappear from the media. The popular presenter continues hosting the UK edition of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and has also announced another season of his show "Clarkson's Farm."

"Today was eventful. The Grand Tour ended after another year, but there is MUCH more to come with 'Clarkson's Farm,' which looks incredibly beautiful this evening," he wrote on Instagram in November.
