During a press conference, Kamikawa disclosed that the aid package would include a drone detection system. The press conference took place after she met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. The Japanese government will also send Kyiv five mobile gas turbine generators to aid Ukrainians during the harsh winter, added Kamikawa.
The Japanese Minister emphasized Tokyo's condemnation of Moscow for its bombings using rockets and drones. She also pledged assistance to Ukrainians in building shelters and ensuring educational and medical services for women and children.
Yoko Kamikawa arrived in Ukraine by train from Poland. As reported by Nikkei Asia, her visit comes ahead of a conference set to be organized by Ukraine and Japan in Tokyo on February 19. The primary purpose of the meeting will be to discuss steps for the reconstruction of war-torn Ukraine.
