Jake Abraham, a British film and theatre actor known, among others, from the movie "Porachunki" or the series "Serious Bodily Harm," has died. He was 56 years old and had been battling an illness for nearly a year.

News of the death of the Liverpool-born actor circulated British media on Monday, October 2nd. As reported by the BBC, Jake Abraham died of prostate cancer, which was diagnosed in early 2023. Unfortunately, the disease was at an advanced stage at that time, and the actor was unaware for a long time that his body was under attack from the cancer. The cancer had silently progressed for years, something which Abraham mentioned in one of his interviews.

"What prompted me to go to the doctor and get a PSA test (Prostate Specific Antigen), was the fact that blood appeared in my urine. I took the test and ended up at Royal (Royal Liverpool University Hospital - editor). The doctor said: 'You have cancer, I'm so sorry'. He said I've had it for years, maybe four "- recalled the actor, who had over 30 screen roles in his career.

In July, Jake Abraham revealed that his condition is so serious that he is under palliative care. In recent months, the cancer has also attacked the actor's spine, hips, and bladder.

"We will miss him a lot. I have a lot of fond memories of Jake, he was always optimistic and amusing. I admired him for revealing his disease publicly, it will make a difference for many others and save lives," said Bill Elms, a theater director and producer from Liverpool, about the deceased actor.

Jake Abraham - career on screen

Jake Abraham made his debut on the small screen in the mid-80s in the series "Help," and it was television productions that brought him the most popularity (including the Channel 4 series "Serious Body Damage"). Abraham also performed on stage and in films.

The most well-known titles he has been involved in include Guy Ritchie's "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", the comedy "Formula 51", "Mean Machine" or "London Boulevard". The last time Abraham appeared on screen was in the series "The Responder" from 2022.

Last summer, in one of his final interviews, Jake Abraham urged fans to get preventative screenings that provide a chance for early disease detection and life-saving possibilities. For him, as he admitted then, it was already too late. "All I can do now is wait for the last day," Abraham confessed.
