Jack Nicholson's family secrets. From love affairs to neglected children
Jack Nicholson, renowned for his cinematic achievements at age 87, has six children from five different relationships. He has always stated his active involvement in their lives despite his youngest daughter, Tessa Gourin, nearly 30, expressing disappointment in their sparse connection.
Nicholson's vibrant acting career mirrors his personal life. He married once in 1962 to actress Sandra Knight after co-starring with her in "The Terror" - a project directed by a team including Roger Corman, Francis Ford Coppola, Monte Hellman, Jack Hill, and Nicholson himself. This union, ending in 1968, blessed him with his now 61-year-old daughter, Jennifer.
In 1970, Nicholson had a brief affair with Susan Anspach, his co-star from "Five Easy Pieces," leading to the birth of Caleb James. Nicholson acknowledged paternity after Anspach's husband adopted Caleb. Nicholson also had a notable affair with Michelle Phillips, the wife of his close friend, Dennis Hopper. Phillips, unfortunately, suffered a miscarriage.
Between 1973 and 1990, while dating Anjelica Huston, Nicholson had an affair with Danish model Winnie Hollman, fathering Honey, whom he never publicly recognized. His relationship with Rebecca Broussard from 1989 to 1994 resulted in two children: Lorraine (34) and Ray (32). Tessa, born to waitress Jeannine Gourin in 1994, was not publicly acknowledged by Nicholson as his daughter either.
Jack Nicholson's youngest daughter shares: "He never wanted me in his life"
Despite Nicholson's assurances of being an involved father, it's clear he had his favorites, with Honey Hollman and Tessa Gourin suffering from his neglect. Gourin revealed, “The truth is that in 28 years, I have never had a relationship with my father. True, as a young girl, I flew from New York to Los Angeles to meet him, but it was clear to me that he didn’t want me to be part of his life,” as reported by the Marca portal.
Gourin points out the common yet deeply personal pain of growing up without a father. “What makes it painful is that it is done consciously, as in my case,” she remarks, capturing the essence of her struggle.
