Jabalia refugee camp devastation. 90 dead in Israeli airstrike and continuing strife in Gaza

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip revealed in an interview with Reuters that Sunday's Israeli strikes on the Jabalia refugee camp resulted in 90 fatalities. In separate attacks in the city center of Deir al-Balah, an additional 12 were reported dead, and dozens sustained injuries.

A missile attack by Israel also targeted a house that belonged to the Dawouba Shehab family, spokesperson of the Islamic Jihad, killing 24 people, as reported by Reuters.

The spokesperson's son was among those who perished. "We believe that the number of victims buried under the rubble is substantial, but we're unable to remove the rubble and recover the bodies due to intense Israeli shelling," a local doctor conveyed over the phone.

The Jabalia refugee camp has been subjected to repeated shellings. Media reports indicate that on November 23, 27 people were killed during a bombardment on a UN school in the camp. On December 6, Jabalia witnessed the deaths of at least 22 individuals.

Global media outlets are drawing attention to the daily challenges faced by the civilian population in the Gaza Strip. Online footage shows Palestinians frantically searching for missing people amid the rubble.

Unnamed sources cited by Reuters suggest that Israel and Hamas are again considering a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange.
