On the night spanning from Tuesday to Wednesday, the Gaza Strip was under artillery fire, during which Muhsin Abu Zina, a leader of a faction within the terrorist organization Hamas, met his end. According to a joint statement released on Wednesday morning by the Israeli army and the Shin Bet counter-intelligence department, Abu Zina had been in charge of weapon production for Hamas.

Abu Zina was a specialist in the production of tactical weapons and rocket projectiles. As emphasized in a statement by the military, referenced by the Times of Israel website, Abu Zina was of significant status within the Hamas structures.

Israel's campaign against Hamas

An aggressive operation by the Israeli military has been in progress for over a month against Hamas. Several influential figures from within the organization have been neutralized during this period. Prior to this, information had been circulated about the deaths of Issam Abu Rukbeh, commander of Hamas's air force, and Jihad Meisen, the head of its security forces.

Israel's Clash with Hamas

During the pre-dawn hours of October 7, Israel found itself under an unexpected attack from the Gaza Strip, launched by Hamas.

This assault resulted in the highest death toll among Israelis since the conflict of 1973 between the Jewish state and the Syrian-Egyptian coalition. The ongoing conflict, which has lasted for over a month, has led to the deaths of approximately 1,400 Israeli citizens, and an estimated 10,300 residents of the Gaza Strip.
