During the ongoing sixth day of armed conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas, the number of fatal casualties on the Israeli side has risen to at least 1,300. Among them were 220 soldiers of the Israeli defense forces, known as the IDF - the Israeli army spokesperson informed in the early hours of Thursday morning, Eastern Time.
The number of injured as a result of this conflict has exceeded 3,300 people. 28 people are in critical condition, and another 350 are in serious condition - reports the news portal I24.
Israel's land invasion?
The Israeli army, which has managed to mobilize up to 360,000 reservists, is preparing for a potential ground offensive. Nevertheless, as reported by the AP press agency, the decision to start it "has not yet been made" - informed IDF spokesman, Colonel Richard Hecht.
The Israeli armed forces continuously secure the barrier separating Israel from the Gaza Strip. It was from this region that a terrorist attack was launched by the Palestinian Hamas on Saturday. The Israeli army remains alert and ready to take action to protect its territory and citizens.
