Israel plans retaliation against Iran. The US does not voice support
Israel has reportedly informed the United States of its intention to retaliate against Iran. US media sources indicate that Washington did not endorse this decision.
Israeli officials notified the US government on Thursday about their plans to retaliate against Iran soon. CNN reports, citing an anonymous US official, that the US did not voice support for Israel's proposed actions.
NBC News, referencing another anonymous source, shared similar insights, stating that Israel had alerted the US of an impending response, which the US did not partake in.
Defense Ministers' Dialogue
Conversely, the Pentagon disclosed a conversation on Thursday between US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Gallant. They discussed regional threats and Iran's destabilizing activities in the Middle East, as reported by CNN and "The New York Times."
The Middle East remains a region of high tension and complexity, where the deteriorating relationship between Israel and Iran shows no signs of improvement. Meanwhile, the United States, although an ally of Israel, has not shown support for the anticipated retaliation.
