Israel Defense Forces to pursue Hamas leadership worldwide
Israel Defense Forces' (IDF) spokesperson announced plans to "hunt all members of Hamas". Daniel Hagari emphasized that they would be searching both in the Gaza Strip and "all around the world".
"The Jerusalem Post" highlighted the IDF spokesperson's announcement, signifying that "the army will seek out the leadership of Hamas both in Qatar, and in other parts of the world".
The report underscores that the primary leader and head of the Hamas political office, Ismail Hanije, resides in Qatar.
In October of this year, Hagari referenced a Hamas attack on Israel, stating the "elimination" of high-ranking Hamas representatives is the army's "highest priority". However, at the time, he was only referring to the operations within the Gaza Strip.
In early November, Israeli military intelligence estimated that over a quarter of Hamas leaders carry out their functions abroad, beyond the Gaza Strip. This includes countries like Iran, Qatar, Lebanon, and Turkey. The intelligence agency reassured the public that it is working relentlessly to locate Hamas leaders.
