Israel alarms citizens: Immediately leave Turkey

Israel has called on its citizens to leave Turkish territory as soon as possible. The reason is said to be a very high risk of retaliatory attacks, carried out due to a recent explosion that took place in a hospital in the Gaza Strip.

The National Security Council of Israel has announced that citizens who are currently in Turkey should leave the country as soon as possible. "All Israelis in Turkey must leave as soon as possible" -  quotes the Council's statement from The Defense Post.

It's getting hot in Turkey

According to AFP, the National Security Council's warning for Turkey has been raised to the highest level, which is 4. The reason for this dramatic step is the mutual accusations between Israel and Palestine about an attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip. The tragedy has led to a wave of protests, also in Turkey, aimed against Israel.

There have been violent demonstrations in Istanbul and the capital of Turkey, Ankara, organized in front of Israel's diplomatic stations. Moreover, the governor's office informed that five of the protesters were arrested while attempting to break into the Israeli consulate in Istanbul.

The situation in which the citizens of Israel find themselves is not helped by the fact that Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is a supporter of Palestine. As a result, he has taken the stance that Israel is to blame for the whole situation. He accused it of "striking a hospital where women, children, and innocent civilians are taking shelter." At the same time, he called on the world to stop the tragedy unfolding in the Gaza Strip.
